Much of Barber and Osgerby’s work involves the folding and shaping of metal. Their first design was the Loop Table. This was followed by the Hula Chair and the Shell Chair. In their capable hands, for the first time, car manufacturing technology was harnessed to make furniture.
In 2002, BarberOsgerby were commissioned to design the furniture for Portsmouth Cathedral. They have worked with numerous Design houses including Vitra, Magis Furniture, Cappellini, Panasonic, Sony and Swarovski.
Winners of many design awards, the duo received the esteemed Jerwood Arts Prize in 2004, and they were made Royal Designers for Industry by the Royal Society in 2005.[CLOSE]
