Born in Nantes in 1967, Jouin has established a reputation as one of France’s most prolific designers. He graduated in 1992 from the Ecole Nationale de la Creation Industrielle and, after working closely with Phillipe Starck, he opened his own agency in Paris in 1999.[OPEN]
Jouin excels at refined yet bold designs. His work is elegant and skill-full, and he has contributed much to the urban landscape of Paris – where it is said on a typical stroll about the city one would encounter one of his designs every three hundred and fifty metres. The city’s self-cleaning lavatories and more recently installed benches are Jouin’s handiwork.
Jouin has also worked closely with Italian design houses such as Kartel and Cassina, creating beautiful furniture with an unmistakeably Parisian flavour. He was honoured with a solo exhibition in 2010 at the Centre Pompidou in his much-loved, adopted city.[CLOSE]
