Born in 1956, Lissoni graduated in 1978 from Milan Polytechnic where he was a favoured pupil of Achille Castiglioni. He went immediately to work as a designer for Molteni and Lema.

It was in 1986 with Nicoletta Canesi that Lissoni formed the original Studio Lissoni in Milan. They swiftly gathered a reputation for developing a wide range of projects in design and architecture. [OPEN]This included Ghost, a one hundred and seventy foot yacht with all the panache of an ultra modernistic living environment.

Lissoni’s magical touch is more affordably associated with furniture. His iconic Audrey chair from Kartell was a challenge not of design but of the design process – which unconventionally utilised robotics.

Lissoni has worked with Driade, Kartell, Artemide, Flos Lighting and many others. His original Milan studio has grown to include branches in the States, Moscow, Tel Aviv and Bangkok.[CLOSE]
